Who are you?

Hi! I’m Jia Spiggle, and I run Spiggle Studio. I’m a Boston-based designer and illustrator with a love for birds and the outdoors.

Why did you start illustrating birds?

Several summers ago, a pair of Carolina Wrens nested off my porch and successfully raised two fledglings. Inspired by their song, I started studying the form of birds through illustration. As I embarked on my journey as a birder, the scope of my project expanded beyond my backyard to birds from around the world.

How many birds are there?

As of now, 74 and counting.
